Kitschy's Kitchen

When we bought this house last year I was so happy about the kitchen. It is no dream kitchen by any means, but it is such a great space. There is so much light and there was a space just for my baking. Now that my son has discovered the joys of corn starch, I realized it was time to make some changes.

I started my mission. I moved all my measuring cups and spoons, doodads, and whatnots to a drawer in the corner.

I moved my hand mixer and small pans to an over head cabinet, which my back thanks me for.

I still had to put some stuff down low, but I don't think my son will do much damage there. Most of the bags are sealed extras.

Then I put the rest over head. Again, my back thanks me. Things are much easier to get at now and much easier to see.
Yes that is a stack of chocolate bars, a girl's gotta be prepared.
The only drawback is the corner of the kitchen is a little darker than where I am used to working. I figure I will still do my decorating and assembly on the big table where I used to work.

So there you have it. If you ever wondered what my kitchen looks like, there it is. I don't have a lot of stuff really, I have pretty simple tools for the most part. I don't have a dream kitchen, but I'm pretty content with it. I am loving the new space I have carved out for myself and it's going to make holiday baking much easier!

I love kitchens girl. Its my favorite workspace. Mine is nothing to run home to mama about, but I like it. I have a cabinet for all my baking goods but still cant keep ds out of my tops, and tupperware but it keeps him busy while i cook so its cool. I have a frosting question for you, how you you learn to make it look neat mine was nothing like how yours looked and I wonder if I am doing something wrong.

I will have a video tutorial for the pumpkin cupcakes, and then I will be doing one just on frosting. :) It's all about consistency and the tip you use.
